Vinnai thaandi Varuvaaya !!

After a extensive hype and a months delay, stood awaken overnight to book the tickets, but as usual, bookings opened @ 12a.m at Satyam and it was housefull for the first 3 days by 12.30a.m.

But not sure what it was, I did not give out the conventional message ("Lets see next week guys") , rather I started to afford checking out other theatres, and finally was convinced with Mayajaal(except for the ticket price which was 220 Indian Dollars, thou tot of convincing ppl sayin that we'll getta coke n pop for free ;-) ). About to book the tickets, but unfortunately My card was invalid for that site, So woke up EK and asked to him to book. Finally it was all done by 3 mid night ;-) , booked the tickets for saturday 12.30 p.m and Informed guys that ve booked the show for 11.30 (I know 'em).

All set, Saturday morning, We weren't able to meet up, So informed guys to leap in there directly. With all excitement they were there @ 11 except for Leena, Who reached @ 11.35 sobbing for she wud miss "Hossana" ;-) . the kid din knew she was there before 1 hour. Finally after bearing all the abuse for making them turn up an hour in advance, we got into the Screen !

As Usual, the title trade marked Goutham Menon with the freshness!
Simbu, Unbelievably gave an innocuous appearance (Cummon , Goutham wud chuck him off if he tries flicking his fingers to dance ;-) ) There Came Jessy, I was awestuck seeing how she was portrayed. I have never spared a moment to take a glimpse @ Trisha, but is it the same girl, nope, no way, shez got the "Looks that Kill" appearance. yeah now, I could feel my canvas shoe getting drenched, EK's mouth was wide opened ;).

Comin to the Screen play, I neva understand how Gowtham menon brings in so much of emotions and expression, afterall its jus a movie, but he makes it better that realty.(No wonder his movie heros n heroines fall in luv wit each other ;-) )

The first Scene was jus more than Amazing, I always have controversial talks on this, how can someone fall in Luv the very moment they see someone, It happens, Luv is not prediction of risk and acting based on it, Its just a miracle that happens in a moment, U call it harmones, I call it "The Spark", that you find with just one person, just one.
I Luvd the way it started, the way Kartik(Simbu) begins bustlin n hustling once he sees Jessy(Trisha) for the first time, walking down the lane like an Angel, and the typical expression from Jessy, a look loaded with Attitude with a intimating glimpse which exhibits in a subtle way while stepping up the stairs.

One thing I felt it could have been better is the family bonding, Usually Gautham Menon plays those strings well, (like the dad son relationship in Vaaranam Ayiram) , but It was implicit here in VTV. Karthik, who steps outta the conventional career line, and tryin his luck with Cine Industry, getting a chance to get aquainted with a person there(Ganesan), was all depicted wisely. I wonder how he portrayed that it doesn't happen so easily in minimal screen time to get the best reach.

Karthik has played his role really well, when tryin to flirt with Jessy jus by looks, following her like hutch dog, and the way he reacts wen he sees her with his sister in his home. As usual he has composed the scenes with sarcasm in his own vogue. I like the most when he says "Unaku 50 vayasagumbodhu enaku 49 agum , apokuda..." The delivery is just awesome. But One thing I wonder is wit whom she was talking over the phone all through the day while this guy is peepin @ her (Thing to be examined ;-) )

The way she reacts when he proposes was typical, and the way she says like "It wont work out, My family is not of that kind !!" Jessy emotes well her liking for Karthik and masking the feel for the sake of family. Luved the way she has played it.

Karthik, talking about this to Ganesan, and the dialogue "Ethanayo ponnunga irukaanga sir, naa yen ivala paathaen", made me laugh aloud, as thou its a prototype for guys. The way Ganesan encourages him was whimsically inspiring. Chasing to Kerala reminded me as a replica to Varanam aayiram, thou the picturization of Allepey mesmerized me, Man those Boat houses are jus heaven on earth., but unfortunately he stayed there with Ganesan ;-).

Jessy reacts well when she realizes Kartik is in the train, yeah, Girls are turned on wit Surprises, but to bring it out , she has done really well, and the stream of romance in the train was portrayed better than realty which no other director can challenge the deal to Gautham.

Gautham should have spent ample time selecting spots, The cafe where they meet up often, "The Ode" was totally romantic !!

It is followed by a row of scenes and getting caught by Jessy's bro, a macho guy. They get into argument and inturn a fight, where Karthik reveals he is a boxer, The stunts are real good, but o'ly thing is you should imagine its performed by someone else, I cudn't imaginge him as a boxer ;-)

Jessy, a fickle minded girl, but who depicts herself as "not so", jumps aside and beside the horizon of Love, Stepping out of marriage that her parents arrange for her was so deliberately illustrated when she says that in front of all.Its followed by a cute scene where she wishes to see him and he appears in no moment.

Now Karthik gets Lucky to prove himself, and Joins K.S.Ravikumar as Assistant director and moves to Goa, with all the memories of Jessy. Mean while the problem bursts out in Jessy's home, She is put up in a critical position where she wishes to have Karthik next to her, but unfortunately there they have a communication gap, Karthik is kettled there in Goa. Jessy needs him to be at her side , Karthik not able to make it, this moment brings a break through in Jessy for he didn't turn up when she needs him. Things change, Kartik turns back but Jessy cares not. Here a series of scenes which could never be depicted by words where Jessy battles her heart with mind are sequenced.

Kartik, reacts well when she says "Everything is over", he expressess the depth of Love, the ambiguous behaviour of Jessy, and the indispensible anger for she is not listening to him.

Jessy , saying herself "I've done wrong to Kartik, I knew it would hurt him, but never knew that it would go to this extent" was a 3rd angle dialogue, that was different but true, which no other director dared to bring out on screen.

Karthik, When Jessy says its all over, Sets her free, where the director has brought the point that True Love need not be chased.

As times roll on, he starts writing a script on his own story and gets a chance to direct too. He makes it all well and...

and...I don wanna speak anything about the Climax here, its purely meant to be watched.

but coudn't stop mentionin the last statement by Karthik “Thedi kedaikra kadhal nillaikathu… enna adichathu antha kadhal.. enna thiruppi pottathu antha kadhal” Hats off Gowtham..

An epic to say Love is the most beautiful thing and the most painful thing too !!

Precisely

Gals can be catogorized into the following types..

1.) One who considers the word "Love" as a sin, beliving that falling in Love is against the family morals, so never give a damn to the guys around them, worst case if someone follows and proposes , they complain ;-).

2.) Second, Gals who know "Love" is an ecstacy, but practically it won't work out(presumptions), they value their family and they waver between the intense of true Love and protocols of Family with a priority to family always.

3.) Gals who are mentally matured enough to stand for a decision, if they really feel the worth of the Love , they choose it, and if they choose, no matter what, thay'll stand for it.

4) and finally, the one who gets commited, be in a relationship, and as time rolls off, move on with better options ditching the Love, no matter how true the Love is.

This movie, I personally feel has depicted the Second Kinda girl in the best possible way (I say this for the way she stans arguing with her parents trying to convince them, their opinion about Karthik)

How can I forget saying about Songs, they are picturized in the best possible way with a BGM that could never be compared to anything in the history!

I had my tight throat feeling my adams apple and yeah coudn't stop the drop of tear that was comin outta ma eyes ;-)

On the whole,
I would say the Movie will have an impact even after you're outta screen !!

P.S : I don want comments for this post, rather I would welcome Arguments ;-)
